Simply...Pillsbury Cookies: Review and Give-Away

Saturday, July 25, 2009

I love cookies. My favorite - chocolate chip. Nice and simple. Warm and gooey straight from the oven. So I was excited to learn that Pillsbury has a new cookie brand - it's called Pillsbury Simply. Simply good in so many ways. It comes in two flavors, one of which is chocolate chip. The other is peanut butter.

These are the "healthier" version of the cookies. They have zero grams trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial colors or flavors and no preservatives. What do they have? Well, ingredients you would expect to use at home, like flour, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. The difference between homemade and these is that they are partitioned and ready to bake, so there is no messy preparation.

After I tried my first bite, I was hooked. It was absolutely delicious. Smooth, melted chocolate chips, just the right amount of sweetness. My kids sure loved them too! Plus, it was cool that Pillsbury was kind enough to send a "simple" cookie jar for me to put them in.

Want to try these cookies? Well - I have a link for a coupon that gives you $1.25 off! Just go here: Simple Pillsbury Coupon.

If I have to take my daughter to voice lessons on the west side of town one day, then that's the day I'll go to the grocery store that's only on that side of town. It sounds complicated, but it becomes a habit after a while, and it sure saves time and gas! And all summer long, I keep a big cooler in the trunk of the car so I can store any perishables saely until I get home.

I simplify things day to day by being crazy about lists-if I don't have it written down I know I'll forget it, and when I'm rushing around it's tough to remember everything I need to do off hand. It's made things a lot easier!

I double batch many recipes and freeze half for those quick throw-down dinners; it's much cheaper to grab a package of frozen chili for dinner than buy fast food for all of us.

Something to simplify day to day life is to not take life so seriously. You only have one life. Live it! Some people stress out to much (even me) and forget to enjoy the little things in life!

I have meals planned out on index cards. Making them a little at a time wasn't difficult, so now I have over 30 cards, enough for a different dinner idea for a month. Plan the meals out a week in advance with magnets on the frig. Everyone knows what meal is next and there is a ingred list on each card thta makes shopping easy.
