The Mom Buff: Cheat Meals

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

If you follow me (themombuzz) or Cissy (coolbabykid) on Twitter, you probably see us tweet about cheat meals. Now, that just sounds BAD since we are prepping ourselves for a Figure Contest, right? Well - listen to the VLOG to understand why we do it and what I think the benefits are.

Now, I've done some research back and forth and know that actually not all people believe in "cheat meals", but I think their definitions may vary. Or they feel there are exceptions to the rule. For example, what really constitutes a cheat meal? And how does your body react to a cheat meal? How far are you from a contest date (or just a date that you plan on baring that belly)? Well, during last week's cheat I ate at P.F. Changs with some lettuce wraps, plus 3 chocolate chip cookies. Someone else might just increase carbs with some spaghetti or extra servings of rice. Meanwhile, a third person might eat 2 pies of pizza by themselves. All different ways of going about it. I lean towards the unextreme, but still want to enjoy my meal.

But if you are eating a clean diet, this may be the motivation you and your body need. You can read Fawnia Mondey's or Shannon Clark's articles for a better understanding! And I invite everyone to try any of the workouts or diets you see on Lifting Underground that were developed for me! They are usually under the label Figure Odyssey.

This is solely the opinion of the Mom Buzz. Other people may have different experiences with cheat meals. And don't forget to enter my other hot contests so you can win and try buzzworthy products!

I so believe in cheat meals! That has always helped me in the past and believe it or not there are actually some weeks where I will pass a cheat meal up, by choice obviously. But I too have noticed if you kick in that cheat meal, it really does keep the body guessing. I look at it as when you workout . You don't walk, jog or lift the same everytime, you mix it up and keep the body on its toes to get better results!

Oh I believe. If I didn't, I wouldn't have maintained all those years before Davis. Now if I could get back mentally to that point, I would be ready to go again.
